After a day and night of severe storms and tornadoes, the state of Oklahoma is looking for a little bit of relief before more storms set in.

Sunday afternoon will be pleasant under a light breeze with temps in the 70s.

A few showers that develop out east that could become strong to severe in eastern Oklahoma.

The Oklahoma City metro should remain sunny and mostly quiet.

What is the Weather Going To Be Like On Sunday, April 28?

The rain is let up by 5 a.m. in the Oklahoma City metro. Lows are projected to be in the mid to lower 60s on Sunday morning, which will be great for the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon.

Across the state, highs will climb into the 70s by Sunday afternoon.

Skies will clear and winds will remain lighter as highs climb into the 70s, but rain chances do return though on Sunday afternoon.. A slight chance for severe weather will be possible in eastern Oklahoma.

Power Outages:

According to OG&E, as of 11:45 a.m. Sunday, approximately 24,000 customers are without service, and 22,000 customers have had their power restored after severe weather moved through the state Saturday and Sunday.

Additionally, approximately 700 restoration personnel are responding to the storm now with approximately 500 additional traveling from Missouri, Louisiana, and Texas to assist.

Traffic Impact After Storms:

Following damage resulting from severe weather Saturday and Sunday, several roads across Oklahoma are facing closures.

In Hughes County, all lanes of north and southbound State Highway 48 are closed between State Highway 9 East and US-270 near Holdenville due to severe weather clean-up.

In Murray County near Sulphur, all lanes of State Highway 7 and US-177 are closed due to severe weather clean-up
